So, somehow, I ended up crossing the Bolivia-Peru border, which was an awful experience. I think it was worth the pain because the next day, Navy and I took a tour of the Floating Islands, which are inhabited by the indigenous Aymara. Just a short boat ride off of the coast of Puno, Peru, this amazing town, called Uros, lives on man made islands created by layering reed plants on top of each other. About 7 families live on each island and the community of about 40 islands produces most of their revenue from tourism. Now I have to come back to hike the Incan trail and visit Machu Picchu.
