I came into the Brazil v Germany game pretty neutral but when Rodrigo, the football coach, put up a bet for Germany, I played along. Brazil got smashed 7-1 in front of their adoring home crowd and I owed Rodrigo a chicken dinner. I watched the game with a few of the local Proyecto students and we all looked at each other in astonishment. Brazil looked clueless. It felt like the 49ers were playing the Browns. And Germany was scoring so rapidly that it reminded me of hockey.
