Today was the anniversary of the foundation of the Mineros San Juan, where Proyecto Horizonte is located. The locals had a parade on Sunday and continued to party through Monday. Furthermore, I was talking with Eliza Wall this evening during dinner about the parade and learned that today was the first day that water ran throughout Mineros San Juan. Sprinklers were shooting up unexpectedly and water was running through the streets. Eliza said that water access was a goal 8 years in the making. Although I had nothing to do with this feat, I feel comfort knowing that this organization has brought clear and tangible progress to the region. And, of course, there is much to be done.
